Welcome to my personal website! I am Taha Huzeyfe Aktas, a PhD candidate in the Business Analytics department at the University of Amsterdam. This website is a platform to share my ongoing studies and collaborate with researchers with similar interests.

My research focuses on operations research techniques, heuristics, machine learning approaches for NP-hard problems, and industry consultation. Currently, I am working on prescriptive analytics in healthcare, specifically on scheduling problems. My research group and I are developing solutions for surgery and appointment scheduling using prescriptive analytics.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Bogazici University and a Master's degree in Data Science from Ozyegin University. After a few years of IT experience in banking and telecommunications, I pursued my master's degree, where I focused on transportation problems. My master’s thesis involved utilizing neural networks in a transportation problem, and I also worked on an inventory routing problem funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).

I have participated in academic consultations for complex transportation problems in Turkey’s defense industry. Throughout these projects, I have utilized neural networks, supervised and unsupervised learning methods, mathematical models, metaheuristics, and matheuristics.
